Connecting Melbourne and Sydney, the Hume Highway is a critical link in the movement of freight across the eastern seaboard, supporting manufacturing, agribusiness, logistics and national supply chains.

Major investment into electric heavy vehicle infrastructure is already underway, including ARENA-supported charging corridor projects and fleet transition programs. 
As industry begins shifting toward electric freight, regional Australia has an important role to play in supporting infrastructure, energy systems, workforce capability and supply chain resilience.
